Theresa Hager is a socioeconomist and research associate at the Institute for the Comprehensive Analysis of the Economy (ICAE) since 2020, and the Socio-Ecological Transformation Lab since 2025. She co-leads two interdisciplinary research projects: the DOC team project Explicit and Implicit Rules of Competition (EIROC) and Economic Decision-Making and Gender Norms: Investigating the Impact of the Familienbonus Plus (EDMAGEN), both funded by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on the intersections of competition, institutions, and socio-ecological transformation, spanning the political economy of global exchange relations, feminist political economy of knowledge production, and critical competition research within the EU.
