I am a Brazilian economist living in Rio de Janeiro. I got my PhD in 2007 at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with a thesis about the relation between economic growth and political institutions in Brazil. I entered Ipea in 1998; since then, I have developed applied studies on fields like tax incidence, agrarian structure, income distribution, macroeconomic policy, public security and more recently, institutions and political economy. I also have been teaching the discipline “History of Economic Thought” at the Faculty of Economics of Fundação Getulio Vargas (EPGE/FGV) since 2016.
