Olessia Kirtchik holds a habilitation degree in sociology from Paris-Saclay University. She worked at the Higher School of Economics (HSE University) in Moscow, in 2009-2022, and is currently associated with the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) in Paris. She has published extensively on the historical sociology of the social sciences, particularly economics and Artificial Intelligence, in the Soviet Union, as well as on Perestroika and post-Soviet economic reforms in Russia. Her current research focuses on AI and digital governance in the EU and the post-Soviet region.
