Nada Matta is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Global Studies and Sociology at Drexel University and Director of the Middle East and North Africa Minor. Her research focuses on the political economy of social movements, structural inequality, and social change in the Middle East, with particular attention to gender and labor movements. Her book, Class Forces: Youth and Labor in the Making of the Egyptian Uprising of 2011, will be published by the University of Michigan Press in July 2027. Her articles have appeared in European Journal of Sociology, Critical Historical Studies, Politics & Society, and ILR Review.
