Biography

Jorge Quesada Velazco is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He studies the impact of elite networks on contemporary inequalities in wealth and power. His research focuses on the role of elite social networks in facilitating economic coordination, collective action, and the diffusion of behavioral norms and ideas. He is currently involved in several projects at UMASS-Amherst, including “Black Lives Matter in the Board Room” (co-developed with Professors Donald Tomaskovic-Devey and Kevin L. Young).
