Jorge ATRIA

Jorge Atria is assistant professor at the Department of Sociology, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and associate researcher at the Center for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). Ph.D. in Sociology from the Free University of Berlin. His research interests are economic sociology, fiscal sociology, and cultural sociology with focus on inequality, elites, taxation, and social structure. He has edited or coedited three books about tax regimes, tax justice and inequality and his papers have been published in journals such as American Behavioral Scientist, The Review of Income and Wealth, International Sociology, and Journal of Latin American Studies, among others. He currently leads a research project on elite perceptions, justifications and reproduction or negotiation of asymmetries.
