Ilkka Koiranen is a post-doctoral researcher in economic sociology at the University of Turku. He is currently studying the interplay of political perspectives concerning citizenship, expertise, and knowledge, as well as how these elements shape public opinion and contribute to the ongoing discourse in the public sphere. Koiranen has extensive expertise in the area of social science research that utilizes quantitative methods, such as survey research and social network analysis. His previous work has especially focused on the realms of political participation and the impact of social media on the Finnish political sphere.
