Diego Vargas-Ureña

Diego Vargas is a political scientist interested in the study of elites, power, and social inequality. His work explores how economic actors influence politics and public policy, particularly in Costa Rica. He is currently completing his Licentiate degree in Political Science, with research examining the influence of financial elites on Costa Rica’s 2020 Usury Law. His broader research interests include the relationship between economic and political power, the role of business elites in policymaking, and the ways these dynamics shape inequality and democratic politics in Costa Rica.
