Carina Altreiter received her PhD in Sociology at the University of Vienna. She has led several research projects, including the interdisciplinary FWF Future College “Spatial Competition and Economic Policies” and a bilateral project on the political processing of crisis experiences (“Solidarities in Times of Crisis”), funded by the FWF and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since 2025, she is leading the FFG-funded project “C(L)ARE – How to deal with care and catastrophes in communes in times of climate crisis”. Her research covers employment relations, class and gender inequalities, political subjectivity and solidarity, as well as gender and climate crises.
